Hello! My name is Rebekah and I’m so glad you found my page! I am so grateful for the life I have been given and I want to share pieces of it with you through my blog. God has been writing my story for a long time and continues to write it daily. I pray that you will find peace and encouragement as you read.
Currently I am a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) where I get to teach at a Christian private school. The staff at the school are missionaries and we dedicate our time and God-given resources to educate and disciple the next generation. We work with families from our local community to love, encourage, and challenge their kids to grow into their God-given identities. We utilize the principle approach to teach our subjects from a biblical perspective and to help our students see how God is in everything.
I am so blessed to be able to teach math and physics at the school, subjects I love so much! After graduating high school, I went to college and got a degree in mechanical engineering. I spent 5 years working in automotive manufacturing post-college. It was a challenging time in my life but after five years and hard seasons of working more than 80 hours a week, I realized that it was not fulfilling me and I was called elsewhere. God reminded me of a memory from my childhood of hearing missionaries speak at the Baptist church my family was attending. I told my parents that I wanted to be a missionary when I grew up. I had forgotten all about that but the Lord remembered. After months of praying about that memory the Lord presented me with an opportunity to do a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM and I jumped. I quit my job, packed my bags, and drove across the country in search of the Lord and the plans He had for me. Friends, I was not disappointed. Follow my blog to learn more about my journey into missions, how I became a teacher, and all the ways God is moving and transforming my life.
As a missionary, I rely on financial partnerships with others to work as a missionary teacher. I am not paid to work but I freely give my time to pour into the hearts of my students. If you would love to join me in this journey, you can support me by praying for me, following my blog, or giving a donation. If you would like to donate, you can access my missionary profile here.
